I've studied (hold on to your hats):
Philosophy, history, history of ideas, religions, law and politics -
chess is, as you understand, another of my hobbies...:o) I started
to play competitive OTB chess when I was 21, I have 2078 in FIDE-ELO
for the time being. I have played close to 800 OTB-games at full
time through the years. My two big problems are calculation(and
visualisation) and competitive nerves(especially in time pressure).
Since these shortcomings don't affect the strenght in correspondence
play, I'm better at corr.chess than OTB.
I've got corr.-ELO 2001, but I've played more than 250 games,
the first ones dating back in the seventies.
In 2003 I got my second IM-norm and thereby the ICCF IM-title.I have
one SIM-norm, and I'll probably get my second very soon(I'm waiting
for my opponent's resignation in the game that will secure the
norm). I have only 75 rated games(my ICCF-elo is now 2463). The
reason is: I very often prefer theme tournaments, because my
attitude towards chess is more that of a researcher, than that of
warrior. Playing the same opening, both as black and white in
several games at the same time, fits well into this attitude of
mine.
