I was born in Stavanger in 1952.
Started playing chess in school and joined first Stavanger Chessclub
and then Randaberg from the beginning. I was introduced to
correspondence-chess by Sverre Halvorsen in 1971 and played a few
occasional matches in the 70's and 80's. During my student days I
played mostly bridge (and music).
I am now working as a geophysicist with the Norwegian Petroleum
Directorate where I am responsible for a subsurface research
programme, see
